VIDEO: Range of options available for patients with cataract, keratoconus

KOLOA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2025, William B. Trattler, MD, of the Center for Excellence in Eye Care in Miami, offers advice on identifying and managing patients with both cataracts and keratoconus.

“These patients are actually more common than you may expect,” he said. “The key is to perform a preoperative screening topography. You can’t charge insurance, but at least you are going to identify keratoconus prior to cataract surgery.”
