VIDEO: New therapies may ‘move the needle’ on treatment of diabetic retinopathy
CHICAGO — In this Healio Video Perspective from Retina Subspecialty Day at the AAO meeting, Michael S. Ip, MD, discusses the available treatments for nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy.
Ip said about 50% of responders to an American Society of Retina Specialists survey reported that they were not treating patients with NPDR without visual acuity loss and without macular edema.
“There’s still a little bit of controversy,” he said. “I think some of the new treatments will probably move the needle a little bit more in terms of treating this indication.”
