BARCELONA, Spain – In this Healio Video Perspective from the Euretina congress, David Wong, MD, shares his thoughts on the advantages of new drugs for retinal conditions including age-related macular degeneration.

Clinicians are facing “a tsunami of injections,” he said, because new options are now becoming available for retinal conditions that previously had no treatment.

Drugs with increased durability and efficacy have the potential to positively impact clinical capacity, patient care, the wellbeing of health care workers and health care systems as a whole.

“Hopefully with these new durable drugs we can reduce our clinic capacity and keep our resources going,” Wong said.
