BARCELONA, Spain – In this Healio Video Perspective at the Euretina congress, Baruch D. Kuppermann, MD, PhD, delivers an overview of new compounds currently under investigation for dry age-related macular degeneration.
“We are entering an era of neuroprotection and even neuroenhancement with new compounds and new opportunities,” he said, and explained that while neuroprotection aims at slowing down the rate of cell loss, neuroenhancement strives for the goal of improving vision by restoring the function of damaged photoreceptors.
