BARCELONA, Spain — In this Healio Video Perspective from the Euretina congress, Diana Silva, MD, a member of the ESCRS Young Ophthalmologists for Sustainability, advocates for sustainability initiatives across retina societies.
The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons has already developed tools for sustainability, and “it would be wonderful,” she said, if retina societies such as Euretina could also create a benchmark for achievable sustainability goals for intravitreal injections and vitreoretinal surgery.
Silva, co-chair of the EyeSustain Global Council, also discussed “a few practical actionable points that Euretina could be involved in in the future.”
