CARLSBAD, Calif. — In this Healio Video Perspective from the Women in Ophthalmology Summer Symposium, Laura B. Enyedi, MD, of Duke Eye Center South Durham, discusses gratitude and avoiding burnout.
Enyedi said all doctors know about the problem of burnout and ways to avoid it, but those methods are not always easy. One practice to increase positivity is the “three good things” tool, she said.
“Every night, or whatever time works for you, practice gratitude and think of three good things that happened that day and what your role was in them,” she said. “There’s a lot of evidence that shows how this can increase our happiness, decrease burnout and decrease depression.”
