CARLSBAD, Calif. — In this Healio Video Perspective from the Women in Ophthalmology Summer Symposium, Penny A. Asbell, MD, FACS, MBA, of the University of Memphis, discusses results from the ARMOR surveillance study.
According to Asbell, ophthalmologists should be following the data from ARMOR, a study investigating trends in antibiotic resistance in eye infections, when assessing treatment options for their patients.
“If you get a resistant organism, be aware: It might be multidrug resistant, and may be much more difficult to treat,” she said.
