SEATTLE — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ARVO meeting, George O. Waring IV, MD, FACS, discusses the Tecnis Odyssey’s tolerance to refractive error.

Waring and colleagues conducted an ambispective study on the visual and refractive performance, in addition to patient-reported outcomes, of the Tecnis Odyssey IOL (Johnson & Johnson Vision).

“In the presence of refractive error, 100% of patients saw 20/25 or better in the presence of up to 0.5 D of hyperopic defocus,” he said. “In the presence of myopic defocus, seven out of 10 patients were still seeing 20/25 or better, even in the presence of up to –0.5 D of defocus.”
