One thousand physicians, health care providers and industry members will gather in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in May for the Retina World Congress 2024 hosted in conjunction with Healio Live.
The meeting will bring together 165 faculty members to discuss scientific and clinical advancements in retina. Sessions will take place Thursday, May 9, to Sunday, May 12, at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale.
“I am looking forward to the many interesting surgical presentations at the meeting, particularly management of large macular holes, submacular hemorrhage and myopic traction maculopathy,” Ashkan M. Abbey, MD, a member of the meeting’s faculty and director of clinical research at Texas Retina Associates in Dallas, told Healio. “I am also excited to attend the gene and cell therapy talks to learn more about these revolutionary potential treatments for our patients.”
Abbey will present on two topics at the meeting: a published analysis of nearly 500 cases of secondary IOL placement using a trocar-assisted sutureless intrascleral technique and topline data from the phase 2 DAVIO 2 study of a single injection of vorolanib intravitreal insert for wet age-related macular degeneration.
Attendees can earn up to 23.5 CME credits. Those who wish to attend can register online here. Registration fees — $875 for physicians and $375 for fellows, residents and students — allow access to all sessions. The dress code is business attire.
