BOSTON — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ASCRS meeting, Richard A. Lewis, MD, chief medical officer of ViaLase, provides an update on femtosecond laser image-guided high-precision trabeculotomy for the treatment of glaucoma.

Lewis said the procedure, known as FLigHT, combines gonioscopic imaging and OCT imaging to accurately reflect the treatment area. A study he presented at the meeting examined FLigHT over 3 years.

“We have excellent results,” Lewis said. “Pressure is low, lowering into the mid-teens, approximately 15 mm Hg. We have no serious adverse events, and we are very excited about the durability of the procedure, particularly as we compare it to other glaucoma procedures.”
