WAILEA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2024, Douglas Katsev, MD, and Julia Katsev Larson, OD, discuss the use of Miebo for dry eye disease.

“Miebo (perfluorohexyloctane ophthalmic solution, Bausch + Lomb) is a great addition, even if you’re adding it on after Xiidra (lifitegrast ophthalmic solution 5%, Bausch + Lomb) or anything like that,” Larson said. “Patients love to put it on, and it’s four times a day, but they want to put it in even more because it feels like velvet, and they get such dry eye relief from it.”

“The idea that it stops evaporation is very nice,” Katsev said. “It’s stopping that evaporation and keeping the tear flow around.”
