WAILEA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2024, John A. Hovanesian, MD, FACS, discusses what is on the horizon for the field of cataract surgery.

“We are going to see some interesting things happen. We are going to see robotics come into the picture where we have devices that, while still very early in their infancy now, are likely to reduce the burden of time, effort and manpower required to perform cataract surgery,” he said. “We’re also going to see some accommodating lenses that are really promising.”
