SAN FRANCISCO — In this Healio Video Perspective from the AAO meeting, Priya Narang, MS, shares how to perform reverse four-throw pupilloplasty, which she helped develop.

Narang discusses the benefits of using the technique, especially for patients undergoing endothelial keratoplasty. It involves directing the suture knots to the posterior surface of the iris tissue instead of the anterior chamber to protect the endothelial cells of the donor graft.

The video demonstrating this technique won second place at the AAO Global Video Contest, she said.

“In this select group of cases, this technique works beautifully,” Narang said.
