ROME — In this Healio Video Perspective from the FLORetina-ICOOR meeting, Caroline Baumal, MD, shares her tips and tricks for pediatric retinal detachment surgery.
Starting from the basic assumption that in repairing the retina it is important to understand the differences in pediatric, infant and adult eyes, she gives recommendations on preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative management.
“Pediatric retinal detachment is a complex subject, but we have so many amazing devices and means and things that we can consider, and also we have such a great group of colleagues that we can discuss these complex cases with to give our patients the best possible outcomes,” she said.
