ROME — In this Healio Video Perspective from the FLORetina-ICOOR meeting, Daniel Ting, MD, PhD, shares his views on the potential of artificial intelligence and large language models in pediatric ophthalmology.

Large language models such as ChatGPT have the ability to organize and summarize medical information and may eventually provide treatment decision plans. By combining these models with AI and deep learning in pediatric ophthalmology, many of the eye diseases that lead to blindness in children could be detected and treated early, preventing abnormal visual development and blindness.
