VIDEO: Virtual headset offers alternative to eye patching for amblyopia treatment
SAN FRANCISCO — In this Healio Video Perspective from the AAO meeting, Rupa Wong, MD, discusses the Luminopia binocular therapy headset for children with amblyopia.
According to Wong, the virtual headset is the first binocular treatment for amblyopia and serves as an alternative to treating children with eye patches.
“It uses digital therapeutics in real-time to actually make a patch, so to speak, digitally, while children watch things that they like to watch,” Wong said.
Luminopia closed an oversubscribed $16 million Series A financing round in June of this year.
