VIDEO: Extended internal limiting membrane peeling has utility for PVR
SEATTLE — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ASRS annual meeting, Yoshihiro Yonekawa, MD, FASRS, discusses extended internal limiting membrane peeling for proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
Yonekawa describes how to perform the technique and highlights the findings of a multicenter international study that investigated efficacy of the technique in improving vision outcomes in patients with grade C proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
“It’s a technique that I endorse, and I hope that it is something surgeons can consider, depending on the case, in the future,” he said.
