NEW YORK — In this Healio Video Perspective from OSN New York, Blake Williamson, MD, explains how to combine a small aperture IOL and the Light Adjustable Lens in post-refractive ectatic corneas.
According to Williamson, implanting the Light Adjustable Lens (RxSight) in the dominant eye and the IC-8 Apthera IOL (Bausch + Lomb) in the nondominant eye has yielded positive vision outcomes in some cases with complex corneas, but it is important to hold preoperative discussions with patients to set realistic expectations.
“By understanding the expectations and by being discerning with your patient selection, I think that you can be very successful with both of these technologies, even in more complex corneas,” he said.
