Bascom Palmer named top ophthalmology hospital for 20th straight year

Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has been named the best ophthalmology hospital in the United States for the 20th straight year by U.S. News & World Report.
This marks the 22nd time that Bascom Palmer has achieved the No. 1 spot since the publication began the ranking 34 years ago, according to a press release.

Wills Eye Hospital ranked second and Wilmer Eye Institute third, maintaining their positions from last year.
According to U.S. News & World Report, the top 10 hospitals were recommended by at least 5% of the ophthalmology specialists responding to U.S. News surveys in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
In ophthalmology, the top 10 hospitals are:

- Wills Eye Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Philadelphia
- Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore
