NEW ORLEANS — At the ARVO meeting, Andrew D. Pucker, OD, PhD, senior director of clinical and medical sciences at Lexitas Pharma Services, speaks about the Lexitas modified NEI grading scale to assess corneal fluorescein staining.
In a poster presented here, this grading scale was compared with the original NEI density-based scoring scale and the dot count scoring scale.
“Our poster specifically compares those three grading scales, and we find that the Lexitas modified grading scale is as repeatable as these other scales, but I think the big advantage of our scale is that it has this nine-point increments, so it is much easier to find differences between different subjects in our clinical trial,” Pucker said.
