  • Alice T. Epitropoulos, MD, FACS, presented outcomes of the enVista MX60T IOL.
  • The lens preserves the cornea’s natural positive spherical aberration.

SAN DIEGO — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ASCRS meeting, Alice T. Epitropoulos, MD, FACS, discusses refractive and visual outcomes with the enVista toric MX60T IOL from Bausch + Lomb.

“By preserving the cornea’s natural positive spherical aberration, I think we can give patients the best of both worlds — good depth of field yet with excellent quality of vision,” she said. “It’s important to keep in mind corneal astigmatism is extremely common, with a third of patients presenting for cataract surgery having 1 D or more of corneal astigmatism, so if we leave this untreated, then that can adversely affect their quality of vision postoperatively.”
