Key takeaways:

  • ESCRS president announces the next congress in Vienna.
  • Many interesting sessions will be held, in addition to a classical Viennese ball.

VILAMOURA, Portugal — In this video from the ESCRS winter meeting, Oliver Findl, MD, MBA, current president of the ESCRS, gives a preview of the next congress, which will take place in Vienna from Sept. 8 to 12.

Besides the five typical main symposia and four research symposia, the congress will host more than 100 courses, more than 100 wet labs, a new “arena” with pro and con discussions, brush-up sessions for retina, oculoplastics, cornea and glaucoma, iNovation Day, and free paper sessions and posters.

But a real “first” will be the ESCRS ball in the Hofburg, the imperial palace, on Saturday, Sept. 9.

“If you have never been to a Viennese ball ... this will be a unique opportunity, a very memorable event,” Findl said.
