TAMPA, Fla. — In this Healio Video Perspective from the Telling It Like It Is meeting, Jorge A. Fortun, MD, discusses the recent FDA NDA acceptance and PDUFA date for Iveric Bio’s avacincaptad pegol for the treatment of geographic atrophy.

“I think we have the potential to have two FDA-approved drugs in the span of the next few months, and this is going to be incredible for patients who have been living with this disease and unfortunately have not had treatment for many years,” Fortun said.

“These patients need to be identified, and these patients can be seen in the general ophthalmologist’s practice, found to have GA and then referred for a potential treatment,” he said.
