In this Healio Video Perspective from Glaucoma 360 New Horizons Forum, Savas Komban, CEO and co-founder of Smartlens, discusses developments in unmet needs in glaucoma, including IOP assessment.

“One of the biggest problems in this space is that we are not able to assess IOP well enough in order to optimize the treatments,” he said. “The only treatable risk factor for glaucoma is elevated IOP — high eye pressure. Currently, there is no way to measure IOP outside the clinic. At Smartlens, we have been building technologies like miLens that will enable us to monitor IOP during patients’ daily routines.”
