KOLOA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2023, Douglas A. Katsev, MD, discusses map-dot-fingerprint dystrophy.

“For the premium cataract surgeon, you want this corneal dystrophy to be known before you start. You want to take care of issues that might affect your results,” Katsev said. “The patient needs to know about this disease because they’ll occasionally have recurrent erosions and can’t figure out what’s going on. It’s very important for the physician to look carefully at the slit lamp, looking for signs of map-dot-fingerprint dystrophy.”
