VIDEO: Major developments expected in corneal transplant surgery
KOLOA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2023, Francis W. Price Jr., MD, provides an overview of upcoming developments in corneal transplant surgery.
“We’re going to see some new technology such as implants to put into the eye that may actually take the place of transplants. We’ll see cell technology where we inject cells into the cornea and maybe even have some medications that cause regeneration of the corneal endothelium,” he said.
