KOLOA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2023, Allen C. Ho, MD, discusses gene therapy for wet and dry age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
“We have an approved gene therapy for an inherited retinal degeneration — Leber’s congenital amaurosis,” he said. “We are in pivotal trials for wet AMD and in phase 1 and 2 trials for atrophic AMD and diabetic retinopathy. It’s great science. We’re looking at different ways of delivering the gene therapy.”
