MILAN — At the ESCRS meeting, Emilio Torres, MD, PhD, speaks about a novel OCT-based corneal elastography method implemented in a clinical prototype.

Other devices produce biomechanical data, but most of them evaluate the cornea as a whole. This new technology can selectively detect changes in different point of the cornea. It enables the detection of early changes induced by keratoconus and detailed analysis of the effects of treatments such as corneal ring segments and cross-linking.
