MILAN — In this video at the ESCRS meeting, Damien Gatinel, MD, PhD, speaks about IOL power calculation.
New instruments enable clinicians to measure the real corneal power, but surgeons should be aware that the classic IOL power formulas were adapted to the old way of measuring corneal power.
“Over time, I think that history will show that the formula will evolve at the same time as our precision and capacity,” he said. “We will adapt to the new information to refine this and increase our accuracy.”
