VIDEO: Earlier PK results in better outcomes for infectious keratitis
DENVER — Patients with infectious keratitis who underwent penetrating keratoplasty earlier in the course of their infection had better postoperative outcomes compared with those who waited longer before having surgery, according to a study.
At the ARVO meeting, Troy Teeples, MD, an ophthalmology resident at the University of Colorado, said that neither the infectious etiology itself nor age, sex or race played a role in outcomes.
