Retina World Congress announces new president
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Kourous A. Rezaei, MD, will take over the role of president of the Retina World Congress after this year’s meeting.
During a presentation at the Retina World Congress, Rezaei thanked current president Tarek S. Hassan, MD, for his “exemplary leadership” in helping RWC navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and other planning complications.

“We started this thing with the idea of having a meeting for the world by the world, and that was our guiding principle,” Hassan said. “You are all so involved in the creation and delivery of the program to make this truly unique in the world. There’s really nothing like this.”
Hassan congratulated Rezaei on his new role, and Rezaei thanked attendees at the conference.
“This organization is mainly you, and it’s because of you that it is as successful as it is,” Rezaei said.
