VIDEO: Gene therapy improves light sensitivity in achromatopsia
DENVER — Surgical delivery of the genetic therapy AGTC-401 resulted in overall improvement on a test of light discomfort in 40% of patients with achromatopsia, according to a study presented at the ARVO meeting.
While there was no change in visual acuity, Rachel Huckfeldt, MD, PhD, of Massachusetts Eye and Ear, said light sensitivity is one aspect of vision that people with achromatopsia most often say they would like to correct.
