WASHINGTON — The Digital Ophthalmic Society was officially unveiled during a presentation here at Eyecelerator@ASCRS.

“With cutting-edge lectures, protocol developments, peer-to-peer engagements and practice education, the society will aid in the advancement of ophthalmic surgery through the implementation, adoption and evolution of platforms such as digital surgical visualization, digital health solutions, image guidance systems, telemedicine and other emerging technologies,” Eric Rosenberg, DO, said.

The goal of the nonprofit, Rosenberg said, is to empower eye care providers, improve vision, eye care outcomes and quality of life, and decrease the burden of eye disease via innovation, education and incorporation of advancements in technology.

“By cultivating our group experience, the society will help each member, independent of their prior knowledge base, hone their skill set and provide the necessary tools in order to stay one step ahead of these evolving technologies,” he said.
