Optical coherence elastography, or OCE, is a new technology that elucidates the biomechanical properties of the cornea.
In this video from the virtual European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons winter meeting, Emilio Torres, MD, PhD, explains how OCE was used to obtain the strain map of keratoconus corneas after implantation of intracorneal ring segments. Interesting discoveries were made that might explain the low predictability of this surgical option.
