Moshegov was a graduate of the medical faculty of the University of Sydney and completed specialty training at Sydney Eye Hospital, according to the website for George St Eye Centre, where he was a partner.

Throughout his career, Moshegov acted as a consultant to many ophthalmic companies. He was a member of several professional societies, including the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Australian Medical Association, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

“When his friends describe Con, the words generous, charismatic, humorous and caring are constants. Those who knew Con socially recall a bon vivant, a raconteur, an earnest listener and always the joy of any gathering. Con’s humor and enthusiastic opinions made his lectures always a highlight of any program,” the Australian Society of Ophthalmologists said in an email statement.

A service for Moshegov will be livestreamed on YouTube on Feb. 5, with the Divine Liturgy at 7:30 a.m. AEDT and the funeral service at 9:30 a.m. AEDT.
