VIDEO: Ocular surface needs to be optimized before cataract, refractive surgery
WAIKOLOA, Hawaii — Preeya K. Gupta, MD, founder and director of Triangle Eye Consultants in Durham, North Carolina, discussed ocular surface disease at Hawaiian Eye 2022.
In a study, Gupta and colleagues found that up to 80% of patients presenting for cataract evaluation have some level of ocular surface disease.
“We reviewed the ASCRS Clinical Cornea Committee algorithm to help clinicians identify ocular surface disease in their cataract and refractive patients,” Gupta said.
