WAIKOLOA, Hawaii — Cynthia A. Matossian, MD, founder and medical director of Matossian Eye Associates, discusses the American College of Eye Technicians and their efforts to find and train ophthalmic technicians.
“There’s a tremendous shortage of eye technicians at the moment,” Matossian said. “Finding them; recruiting them; training them — is becoming inordinately difficult, and actually impacting the patient flow and the ability for a practice to be able to help patients in the manner that we were used to.”
