WAIKOLOA, Hawaii — R.V. Paul Chan, MD, the head of the department of ophthalmology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, discussed updates on pediatric retina during a presentation at Hawaiian Eye 2022.
“We are in the era of anti-VEGF for pediatric retinal disease,” Chan said. “I think, over the past 10-15 years, we have been using it more often. But now, what’s exciting is, we have some clinical trial data ... showing that it is effective for the treatment of active ROP.”
