It is my pleasure to announce some changes to our editorial board.

In an effort to keep up with the constantly growing and evolving world of ophthalmology and medical publishing in general, I met recently with the editorial team of Healio/Ocular Surgery News to make some significant changes to the board.

As part of my 40-year tenure with the OSN Editorial Board, in 1993, along with Bill Maloney, MD, I was named Associate Medical Editor under the leadership of Don Sanders, MD, before eventually being named Chief Medical Editor in 1996.

In keeping with that tradition, we are naming five new Associate Medical Editors to lead the editorial board under my continued leadership as Chief Medical Editor. Our Associate Medical Editors are all accomplished leaders in the field of ophthalmology and have made numerous contributions to the growth of Healio/Ocular Surgery News.

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Leon W. Herndon Jr., MD, John A. Hovanesian, MD, FACS, Rishi P. Singh, MD, William B. Trattler, MD, and Elizabeth Yeu, MD, as our new Associate Medical Editors. They will be called upon to provide greater guidance in covering the ever-shifting and increasingly rapid pace of ophthalmic news and information.

With those promotions, we would also like to welcome new Section Editors. Nicole R. Fram, MD, will take over as Cataract Surgery Section Editor, Preeya Gupta, MD, will take control of Cornea/External Disease, and Terry Kim, MD, will helm the Technology Section.

We feel that all of these outstanding ophthalmologist leaders put us in a great position to bring you the best eye care news and information in print and online.
