The Eidon ultra-widefield lens module received 510(k) clearance from the FDA, according to a press release from iCare USA.

The device enables the capture of 120° images of the retina in one shot, or with the “Mosaic” function, users can capture images up to 200°. The image quality allows details and signs of pathologies to be detected.

“Thanks to the ultra-widefield imaging capabilities, the Eidon family of diagnostics provides 200° of retina coverage without compromises. Unsurpassed image quality, sharpness and details are available throughout the entire field of view,” John Floyd, CEO of iCare, said in the release.

The module is able to be retrofitted to most of the Eidon fundus imaging systems, the release said.
