BVI to collaborate with Beyeonics Vision on digital imaging platform

BVI is investing in and collaborating with Beyeonics Vision, providing a pathway to commercialization for Beyeonics One in the United States, according to a press release from BVI.
Beyeonics One is an ophthalmic digital imaging system under development to replace optical analog microscopes. The device uses an ultra-high-resolution camera to process and transfer digital images to a head-wearable display for “a truly immersive and natural stereoscopic 3D viewing experience,” the release said.
“BVI routinely assesses opportunities to partner with companies that have a commitment to innovation and share our entrepreneurial mindset,” Shervin Korangy, president and CEO at BVI, said in the release. “With Beyeonics One, BVI can expand our offering of unparalleled surgical experience during anterior and posterior segment procedures.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
