Zeiss announces changes to executive board

Ludwin Monz, PhD, who serves as the head of the Zeiss Medical Technology segment, is stepping down as president and CEO of the executive board of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG effective Dec. 31, according to a press release.

On Jan. 1, 2022, the company’s supervisory board will transfer the duties for the Medical Technology segment to Markus Weber, PhD. Weber is currently responsible for the Zeiss Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology segment.

“The supervisory board of Carl Zeiss AG would like to thank Dr. Monz for his outstanding commitment and the incredible success he has had in advancing the Zeiss Medical Technology segment,” Dieter Kurz, PhD, chairman of the supervisory board of Carl Zeiss AG, said in the release. “We were saddened to hear of Dr. Monz’s decision not to stand for another term, but we do wish him all the best going forward.”

Andreas Pecher will take over as the head of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology segment.
