Zeiss has introduced several technological and software applications as part of the Zeiss Medical Ecosystem.

The technologies include the Quatera 700, a cataract workflow solution for lens replacement, the Eyeguide patient software application for patients and clinics to stay connected through the cataract treatment process and the Surgery Optimizer application, which allows the use of surgical videos for self-training of physicians and standardization of surgical techniques.

“Harnessing the power of data-generated insights, Zeiss creates an environment where connectivity, automation, artificial intelligence, and safe and efficient management of data can solve the challenges that customers face every day,” Euan S. Thomson, PhD, president of ophthalmic devices and head of the digital business unit for Carl Zeiss Meditec, said in a press release.

Other technologies showcased as part of Zeiss Innovation Week from Sept. 21 to 23 include the CT Lucia 621 monofocal IOL, the VisuMax 800 femtosecond laser and the Velara teleretinal screening system, which can help primary care providers increase compliance and quality for patients with diabetes by providing retinal exams during routine primary care visits.

Not all products are available in all markets.

“It is our mission to contribute to the progress of medicine, enabling more efficient and cost-effective treatments and providing access to high-quality medical care to as many people as possible,” Ludwin Monz, PhD, president and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec, said in the release.
