VIDEO: Placing Dexycu in capsular bag may prove superior to anterior chamber instillation
AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. — In this video from Cataract Surgery: Telling It Like It Is, Robert J. Weinstock, MD, discusses a new technique he and Robert H. Osher, MD, developed to place Dexycu in the capsular bag during cataract surgery.
The technique consists of instilling the steroid suspension in the junction between the optic and the haptic of the IOL after it has been inserted into the capsular bag during cataract surgery. The technique for Dexycu (dexamethasone intraocular suspension 9%, EyePoint Pharmaceuticals) overcomes prior challenges with the suspension’s on-label instruction to inject under the iris in the anterior chamber.
