Jorge L. Alió, MD, PhD, discusses innovative approaches in the treatment of advanced keratoconus presented at the virtual European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting.
Injection of autologous adipose-derived stem cells and corneal decellularized laminas has shown promising results in studies at 3 years, both in terms of increasing corneal thickness and improving vision, Alió said.
