In this video, Dan Reinstein, MD, tells the story behind lenticule extraction and implantation for refractive purposes and discusses the theoretical advantages and disadvantages.

Tissue implantation procedures, such as lenticule transplantation with the Allotex TransForm lenticule, are an interesting development with potentially a promising future, Reinstein said at the virtual European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting. But tissue removal procedures, such as ReLEx SMILE (Carl Zeiss Meditec), are well established now also for hyperopia.
