At the virtual Euretina meeting, Quan Dong Nguyen, MD, discusses local therapies for noninfectious uveitis, an approach that avoids the side effects of systemic treatment.
Three immunomodulatory agents, delivered locally and with a novel mechanism, are currently under investigation, namely corticosteroids delivered by suprachoroidal injection, tumor necrosis factor through a nonviral drug delivery platform and intravitreal sirolimus.
