The power range of the IC-8 small aperture IOL has been expanded, AcuFocus announced in a press release.

The range now extends from +10 D to +30 D in 0.5 D steps.

The IC-8 IOL is intended to increase patients’ natural vision range by protecting central light rays and restricting peripheral light rays that may degrade image quality and range of focus, the release said.

“With the expanded power range, the majority of my patients will now be able to access the benefits of small aperture optics,” Sathish Srinivasan, MBBS, FRCS, FRCOphth, FACS, a cataract and refractive surgery specialist at University Hospital Ayr, Scotland, and medical director of Ayrshire Eye Clinic, said in the release.
