Rajesh K. Rajpal, MD, named chief medical officer, head of clinical and medical affairs at J&J Vision

Rajesh K. Rajpal, MD, has been appointed as chief medical officer and global head of clinical and medical affairs at Johnson & Johnson Vision, according to a press release.
Rajpal will integrate medical and clinical insights into product development while also overseeing clinical trials and serving as a liaison to government agencies and the academic, scientific and industry communities.
He has more than 25 years of experience in ophthalmology, specializing in cataract surgery, cornea/external diseases, anterior segment surgery, LASIK and refractive surgery. Rajpal is active in research and professional education and has been awarded the Senior Achievement and Secretariat awards from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He most recently served as chief medical officer at Avedro.
