MatterHackers, a 3D printing company based in California, is using its network of employees and customers to connect those in need of medical aid products with designers and creators who can make them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company’s COVID-19 Maker Response Hub allows those with a 3D printer, whether it is individuals with one printer or companies with multiple printers, to volunteer to print parts for medical devices. In addition, medical facilities and government agencies looking for help can request items or equipment.

The website also includes models to print protective face shields and low-germ exposure door handle adaptors. Donations are accepted to sponsor the supplies necessary for printing.

“MatterHackers is in a unique position to connect the additive manufacturing community with experts in various medical professions thanks to many factors, including a wide customer base, employees with medical device engineering backgrounds, and the drive and urgency to help others during this unprecedented time,” the website reads.
